Real Madrid need to make additions in several positions across the pitch this summer. One of them is definitely striker. Karim Benzema left the club at the end of last season in order to join Al-Ittihad. On the other hand, Mariano Diaz departed at the end of his contract as well. That left 18-year-old Alvaro Rodriguez as the only recognised centre-forward in the squad. Not the ideal position for Carlo Ancelotti’s side to be in for sure.

Since then, they have signed Joselu on a season-long loan. But the expected is that the Spaniard will be the second-choice striker. Real Madrid still need to bring in a world-class forward to replace Benzema.

One player that they have been linked with in that regard is Harry Kane. His current deal runs out in the summer of 2024.

Thus, Kane is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer. Real Madrid are not the only club interested in signing the Englishman though.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich have submitted an official bid for Kane. It is a fixed fee close to €70 million plus add-ons. But it has not been enough to convince Tottenham Hotspur and was rejected.

Kane has been one of the best strikers in the world for a long time. Even last season, he scored 30 Premier League goals while playing for a struggling Tottenham Hotspur side. Thus, many feel that he would be the perfect replacement for Benzema.

It will be hard for Real Madrid to sign him though. Kane is set to 30 years of age this summer but is believed to be rated at around €100 million by Tottenham Hotspur.

Most of the rumours surrounding Real Madrid this week have been about a possible move for Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman’s future at PSG is uncertain, as he is not ready to extend his contract with them.
