Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid several times over the years. It is no secret that he grew up a fan of Los Blancos and a move to Santiago Bernabeu looks almost inevitable. And it appears to be getting closer with every passing day, with there being serious doubts over his future at PSG.
Mbappe does not intend to extend his contract with PSG, which is set to run out in the summer of 2024. That has put the French club in an unenviable position to say the least.
It is believed that they do not want to see Mbappe walk out as a free agent next summer. But at the same time, it will be difficult to get a move of his magnitude done, with just a year left on his current deal.
Real Madrid looks like Mbappe’s most likely destination, whether he leaves this summer or the next one. And it will be very interesting to see how the long-running saga transpires from here.
Real Madrid transfer agreement with Mbappe
As tweeted out by Santi Aouna, Mbappe already has an agreement with Real Madrid for 2024. PSG expects between €180 million and €200 million for a transfer this summer.
It remains to be seen how things turn out for Mbappe moving forward. It is quite clear that PSG would prefer to find him a new club this summer itself rather than see him depart for nothing just a year later.
The possibility of a move to Real Madrid this summer has not been ruled out yet. But the opportunity to sign him as a free agent a year later will be tempting for obvious reasons.
It is believed that the two clubs have not opened negotiations over the transfer of Mbappe yet. Let’s see if things change over the coming days and weeks.
