Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times and understandably so. Squad depth was already an issue for Carlo Ancelotti’s side and on top of that, they have seen players like Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz depart Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the previous campaign.
Since then, Real Madrid have made some solid additions as well. They have signed Jude Bellingham and Fran Garcia, both of whom are expected to be starters come next season. And in-form Spanish international striker, Joselu, has been brought in on a season-long loan as well.
It does feel like Real Madrid still need a world-class striker to replace Benzema though. With all due respect to Joselu, it feels like he would be more suited to the role of a back up option in this team.
One of the players that Real Madrid were heavily linked with a couple of weeks back is Harry Kane, who is without doubt one of the best strikers in the world and has been for years. Those links have faded away in recent weeks though and it looks like the England national team captain could be headed to Bayern Munich instead.
€100 million Real Madrid target agrees terms with European rivals
As tweeted out by Christian Falk, Bayern Munich and Kane have reached an agreement in principle on a transfer for this summer. Now, the Bundesliga champions need to agree a deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane joining Bayern Munich is starting to feel very likely though. With just a year left on his contract, Tottenham Hotspur do not have a lot of options left.
Someone like Kane could have been a superb signing for Real Madrid. Even while playing in a struggling Tottenham Hotspur team, he scored 30 Premier League goals last season. But Bayern Munich are looking like his most likely destination at this point.
