Real Madrid have been linked with plenty of players in recent times. And over the past few years, the club have built up quite the reputation for signing the best young talent around world football and turning them into superstars at Santiago Bernabeu. Players like Vinicius Jr, Fede Valverde, Rodrgyo and Eduardo Camavinga fall under that category.

Another highly-rated young player that Real Madrid have been linked with for a long time is Kai Havertz. Even before he joined Chelsea, Los Blancos were rumoured to have had their eyes on him. They could not get a deal done though and he moved to Stamford Bridge.

This summer, Real Madrid were linked with a move for Havertz once again. But just like the last time around, the Spanish giants have failed to sign the German international, who has switched clubs but remained in London.

As reported by Arsenal’s official website, Havertz has joined the club from Chelsea on a long-term contract. As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, it is a £65 million deal.

Havertz was considered one of the biggest talents in Europe during his time at Bayer Leverkusen. His development did not go as expected at Chelsea, even though he had some huge moments, including scoring the Champions League-winning goal in his debut campaign with the Blues.

Thus, Arsenal are taking a big risk by signing Havertz in a £65 million deal. And that is the kind of transfer fee that one would expect Real Madrid to shell out, after already bringing in Jude Bellingham this summer.

Many felt that La Liga could have been perfect for Havertz and his style of football. The German is technically brilliant and has every attribute one could ask for in a player. But the Premier League has just seemed a bit too fast and intense for him.
