Chelsea have been busy parting ways with players this summer, after enduring their worst campaign of this century. One area where they might need to make some additions soon though is their midfield. Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante have already left. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to join AC Milan as well, Mason Mount is also expected to depart with Manchester United looking like the most likely destination. On the other hand, the Blues are being linked with a Real Madrid target.

Chelsea will need to add to their midfield options. They are believed to be trying to sign Moises Caicedo. And it looks like a La Liga wonderkid is in their sights as well.

Gabri Veiga enjoyed a breakout campaign in La Liga last season. And he has been linked with Real Madrid since the middle of last season. But other clubs are after his signature as well.

As reported by The Guardian, Chelsea are interested in Veiga. The Spanish midfielder has a £34 million buyout clause, and a transfer bid for him is expected soon.

It goes without saying that Veiga is a superb talent. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists in 39 appearances for Celta Vigo last season.

He has proven himself as a player for the big games as well, scoring against the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis and Sevilla. And it was just last month that he turned 21 years of age.

So, it is not hard to see why clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for Veiga recently. And it will be very interesting to see where he eventually ends up. A move away from Celta Vigo this summer seems almost inevitable though.
