Kylian Mbappe could sign new deal with PSG amid Real Madrid links
There just never seems to be an end to the Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid. Last year, it had looked like he was set to join Los Blancos as a free agent before surprisingly extending his contract with PSG. The exit rumours have never quite gone away though and the Frenchman has recently informed the Ligue 1 champions that he does not intend to extend his current deal with them, which runs until the summer of 2024.
Thus, there has been renewed talk of a move to Real Madrid. Whether that is this summer for a transfer, or next summer as a free agent.
The Mbappe transfer saga has been through a lot of twists and turns over the years though. And it looks like it has taken another one.
As reported by MARCA, Mbappe’s representatives and PSG’s top minds will talk things over. A lot depends on the outcome of the meeting. No option has been ruled out but one alternative is gaining momentum, which would be a new deal, a two or three year contract, so that the World Cup winner can be transferred next summer. There would be a verbal agreement to let him leave in 2024.

Let’s see how things play out in the Mbappe saga. But his PSG exit looks inevitable, whether it be this summer or the upcoming one.
And Real Madrid still look like the Frenchman’s most likely destination when he does eventually leave PSG. They might have to shell out a massive transfer fee to sign him though, if a new deal is agreed.
Of course, anything is possible in football. Nothing should be taken for granted, until we see Mbappe in a Real Madrid jersey. Especially with recent rumours suggesting that Liverpool want to sign him as well.
