Real Madrid do not have a lot of depth in their squad at the moment. One area of the pitch where they are stacked though is midfield. The club already had an incredible set of midfielders in the form of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni and Dani Ceballos. And this summer, they have signed Jude Bellingham as well.

Bellingham might be just turned 20 years of age, but he is already amongst the best midfielders in the world. He won the Bundesliga Player of the Season for his efforts in the previous campaign, almost guiding Borussia Dortmund to their first league title in over a decade.

Thus, Bellingham is expected to come in and immediately establish himself as a starter. That would raise doubts about the future of some other players though.

One player who struggled in the second half of last season is Aurelien Tchouameni, losing his status as a nailed on starter. And there have been rumours about a potential move away from the club this summer.

As reported by Football Transfers, Arsenal have added Tchouameni to their list of transfer targets. If they fail to sign either Moises Caicedo or Romeo Lavia, they will test the waters for the Real Madrid player.

Tchouameni is a superb talent without doubt and it was just last summer that Real Madrid signed him from AS Monaco in a €100 million transfer package. And despite some struggles, he has also shown flashes of brilliance in a Royal White jersey. Thus, it would be a surprise if the club let him go just a year later.

Stranger things have happened in football though. Nobody could have expected Real Madrid to part ways with Casemiro last summer, and yet, the Brazilian legend ended up at Manchester United.
