Real Madrid must sign French striker for free this summer
Real Madrid need to sign a striker. The club have brought in Joselu on a season-long loan deal and have 18-year-old Uruguayan wonderkid, Alvaro, in the ranks. But that simply is not enough for Los Blancos to compete in all three tournaments come next season, something that they are expected to do every time.
Karim Benzema leaving the club has left a massive hole up top in Carlo Ancelotti’s side. For the past five seasons, the Frenchman had been the face of Real Madrid and their most reliable source of goals.
It will be very difficult to replace him. There have been rumours of a move for Kylian Mbappe, but him arriving next summer seems much more likely at this point.
Thus, Real Madrid might need to bring in a different striker this summer. Someone who can provide the goals up top but it does not take a big transfer fee to sign. So, why not replace Benzema with another Frenchman?

Moussa Dembele is going to be available as a free agent this summer. And while he did not have a great 2022/23 campaign, he has been solid overall during his time at Lyon.
In three of his five seasons with Lyon, he scored 20 goals or more. He was fantastic for Celtic before that as well. And he has had a loan spell at Atletico Madrid in the past as well.
Dembele is not someone who you would expect to be the main man up top for Real Madrid. But he knows his way to the back of the net. And with the club lacking options at striker right now, signing him on a free transfer could be a shrewd move on the part of Los Blancos, before they go after Mbappe or another high-profile name next summer.
