Real Madrid have built up a superb reputation for signing and developing some of the best young talents around world football. Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, Rodrygo and Eduardo Camavinga are all players who arrived at the club as teenagers and have gone on to become starters. Los Blancos have recently signed both Jude Bellingham and Endrick as well.
Thus, it looks like Real Madrid are continuing to build up with an eye firmly on the future. And another player that they have been linked with recently is Arda Guler.
Guler is one of the most highly rated young talents in Europe right now. He has been dubbed the ‘Turkish Messi’. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the 18-year-old has scored 9 goals and provided 12 assists in 51 appearances and 1914 minutes of football for Fenerbahce till now.
Those are impressive numbers for a player of his age. And he has already made a few appearances and scored for the Turkey national team. Thus, it should come as no surprise that Real Madrid face competition to sign Guler.
Real Madrid pushing to sign €18 million wonderkid
As reported by MARCA, Real Madrid and Barcelona are pushing hard to sign Guler, whose buy-out clause is €18 million. Los Blancos have been following the player for some time.
Someone like Guler would certainly fit the transfer policy that Real Madrid have followed over the past several years. There have been suggestions that the club would look to loan him out for a season in order to get regular first-team football, if they are able to sign him.
It remains to be seen if Real Madrid are able to sign Guler or not. There is no doubt that he is a fantastic talent. And signing him for a €18 million transfer fee could prove to be a bargain in the long run.
