It is no secret that Real Madrid need to bring in a world-class striker this summer. Karim Benzema had been their main source of goals and the face of the club for the past five seasons but left at the end of the previous campaign in order to join Al-Ittihad, bringing an end to his legendary run in the Royal White jersey since 2009.

Real Madrid have signed Joselu on a season-long loan. And they have the very talented, Alvaro, in their ranks already. It does not feel like that is enough though for the club to compete for all three trophies next season.

They need someone to lead the line. And one player that Real Madrid have been linked with is Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has established himself as one of the best strikers in European football. And Real Madrid are not the only club linked with the Nigerian international. The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are rumoured to be keeping an eye as well.

As reported by Evening Standard, former Napoli and Italy midfielder Salvatore Bagni said about the situation of Osimhen:

"“Of all the teams associated with him, for me, he would only go to Manchester United and Real Madrid. He’s not interested in the other teams.”"

Osimhen is an exceptional striker and at 24 years of age, he could be the long-term solution up top for Real Madrid. The Nigerian guided Napoli to the Serie A title last season, their first since Diego Maradona’s time at the club. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the striker scored 31 goals and provided 5 assists in 39 appearances in the 2022/23 campaign.

It is hard to see Real Madrid making a move for Osimhen this summer though, as Napoli are not expected to let him go for a transfer fee lower than €100 million. It is much more likely that Los Blancos would try to sign Kylian Mbappe or wait another season for the French World Cup winner.
