Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe for years now. But finally, it looks like the saga might be coming to an end soon. The French World Cup winner is believed to have informed Paris Saint-Germain that he will not be extending his contract with the club. His current deal runs until the summer of 2024.
Thus, PSG have been left with only a couple of options. The first is to somehow try and change Mbappe’s mind, and agree a new deal. The second is to transfer the Frenchman. Otherwise, they will see him walk out as a free agent a year.
Of course, Real Madrid must surely be keeping an eye on the situation. And most people expect Mbappe to end up at Santiago Bernabeu, whether it be this summer or the next one.
Other clubs appear to be interested in signing Mbappe as well though. Just days ago, the name of Liverpool cropped up as a potential destination for the Frenchman. And now, it looks like Arsenal might be in the race as well.
Arsenal deliver Mbappe blow to Real Madrid
As reported by Football Transfers, Arsenal are weighing up a potential move for Mbappe in 2024. The PSG superstar is admired by the Premier League giants, who are considering whether or not to send a package to his representatives.
Arsenal are proving to be an attractive destination for players right now, after their great 2022/23 campaign. Mikel Arteta seems to be a manager that many want to work with as well.
At the end of the day though, one would have to consider Real Madrid as the favourites to sign Mbappe. It is no secret that the Frenchman grew up supporting the Spanish giants. There have been many twists and turns in this saga already though, so nothing should be taken for granted.
