Chelsea have been letting players go left, right and centre this summer till now. The Blues have let several of their first-team stars go already and more are expected to follow. Sooner or later, they will need to rebuild the squad as well though, to give Mauricio Pochettino the best possible chance to succeed. And it looks like one of Real Madrid’s long-term targets is in their sights.

Real Madrid have built up quite the reputation for signing the best young talents from around the world and turning them into superstars at Santiago Bernabeu. Names like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and more fall under that category.

One highly rated talent that Real Madrid have been linked with on-and-off since Zinedine Zidane’s time as manager of the club is Rayan Cherki. The Frenchman is still just 19 years of age and already a regular for Lyon.

Real Madrid are not the only club with an eye on the Lyon wonderkid though. As tweeted out by Fraser Fletcher, Cherki is on Chelsea’s radar.

Cherki is considered as a special talent in French football and he has already started to show glimpses of that. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 4 goals and provided 6 assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances last season.

Cherki might be just 19 years of age, but he already has plenty of experience under his belt. He has made more than 100 appearances for Lyon till now.

Cherki is an exceptional dribbler of the ball and is great when it comes to setting up his teammates as well. With Mason Mount set to join Manchester United this summer and Joao Felix going back to Atletico Madrid after the end of his loan spell, it is not hard to see why someone like Cherki could be a solid addition for Chelsea in the number 10. He can play on both flanks too.
