Manchester United have signed quite a few stars from Real Madrid over the past decade. Angel Di Maria had made the move back in 2014. Then they brought in Raphael Varane in 2021 and added Casemiro to their ranks in the following summer transfer window. And it looks like another player could potentially make the trip from Santiago Bernabeu to Old Trafford this time around.

Real Madrid might not have a lot of depth in most area, but one position where they are stacked is midfield. They were already pretty strong there and have added Jude Bellingham to their ranks this summer.

That has raised questions about the future of Aurelien Tchouameni though. The Frenchman was brought in just last summer from AS Monaco but struggled in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign, losing his starting spot in the team.

With the arrival of Bellingham, most believe that Tchouameni has slipped further down the pecking order. And interestingly, he has been linked with a series of Premier League clubs in recent weeks and months.

As reported by El Nacional (via 90min), Manchester United officials are due to fly to Spain in order to hold talks with Real Madrid over a move for Tchouameni. Erik ten Hag is pushing for the Frenchman midfielder.

Tchouameni made a bright start to life at Real Madrid last season, but seemed to struggle after the World Cup. By the end of the campaign, he had lost his status as a nailed on starter and found himself sitting on the bench in most of the big games.

Despite that, it might be a bit too early for Real Madrid to consider letting Tchouameni go. He deserves a second season at Santiago Bernabeu, to show what he is capable of.
