Real Madrid are slowly but surely starting to turn the page and begin a new chapter in the club’s history. Los Blancos have seen a number of players depart in recent years, a number of whom had been at Santiago Bernabeu for a long time. Names like Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio, Casemiro, Raphael Varane and more come to mind. The future is now.

Real Madrid seem to have the young core of their midfield already set, as well as some key forwards for the future. One area in the team where more changes could be made though is in the defence.

Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, Nacho Fernandez and Lucas Vazquez are all past their 30th birthday. However, one player who seems to have doubts cast over his future is Ferland Mendy.

The Frenchman dealt with a number of fitness issues last season and seemed out of form as well. And it looks like an exit this summer is not out of question.

As reported by Cadena SER (via AS), the buzz has been circulating within the club for several weeks that an offer from Saudi Arabia is coming for Mendy.

Many European players have been making the move to the Saudi Pro League in recent weeks and months. Could Mendy be the next?

The club have brought back Fran Garcia this summer. He had a great spell at Rayo Vallecano and it would not be a shock to see the Spaniard start at left-back come next season.

Carlo Ancelotti is believed to be a fan of Mendy and views the full-back as part of his future plans. But the Frenchman’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2025 and if a substantial offer came in, one would expect Real Madrid to consider it.
