Real Madrid are in need of a striker at this point of time. Karim Benzema left in the summer, leaving a massive hole up top for the club to fill. They have brought in Joselu since then, but it just does not feel like the 33-year-old is the man to lead the line for Los Blancos, if they want to compete for all three major trophies next season.

Of course, the Spaniard could end up proving the critics wrong and having an incredible campaign. But until then, most fans believe that he should be the second-choice striker for Real Madrid come next season.

Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, Dusan Vlahovic and Victor Osimhen have all been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent times. But signing any of them would be difficult, as the club have already splashed out to bring in Jude Bellingham this summer.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, one of the clubs that has been said to have knocked on Jonathan David’s door is Real Madrid. Napoli and Juventus are believed to be interested in the Canadian striker as well.

David has been been a superb performer during his time at Lille. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 26 goals and provided 4 assists in 40 appearances last season.

David is also just 23 years of age. Thus, he could be a long-term solution up top for any club that ends up signing him. The Canadian striker is believed to be rated at a transfer fee around €40 million but that could rise significantly, considering the calibre of the teams interested in him.

Real Madrid are rumoured to be eyeing a marquee signing at striker for the summer of 2024 though. Thus, one has to wonder whether going after someone like David would make sense at this point of time.
