Real Madrid have built up quite the reputation in recent years for signing some of the brightest young talents from around world football and developing them into superstars at Santiago Bernabeu. Players like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga all fall under that category.

The club have not been as successful though, when it comes to developing the players coming through their own youth setup. Many fans believe that they have not been given enough chances to prove themselves at the senior level.

One of the brightest talents to have come out of the Real Madrid youth setup in recent years is Sergio Arribas. Despite being 21 years of age now, he has played very little football at the senior level though.

It is quite clear that Arribas needs to be playing regular football at this stage of his career. And thus, it looks like he is set to head out of Real Madrid this summer, but on a temporary basis.

As reported by Ruhr Nachrichten (via Mundo Deportivo), Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are working on a move for Arribas. It will be a loan deal for two years.

We have seen several of Real Madrid’s youth prospects head out on loan over the years. And it has certainly served them well. This summer, Brahim Diaz has returned from a three-year spell at AC Milan. It remains to be seen if a deal for Arribas to join Borussia Dortmund on a temporary basis ends up transpiring or not.

Borussia Dortmund could be the perfect club for someone like Arribas to join. They have a tremendous record when it comes to developing players. Real Madrid will know that better than most, having signed Jude Bellingham in a blockbuster deal just this summer.
