Real Madrid have already completed two permanent signings this summer in the form of Jude Bellingham and Fran Garcia. They have also brought in Joselu, but only on a season-long loan deal from Espanyol. And now, it looks like Los Blancos are closing in on their fourth addition of the ongoing window.

The player in question is Arda Guler of Fenerbahce. He is considered by many as the biggest talent in Turkish football right now.

Guler has even been dubbed ‘The Turkish Messi’. And despite of there being interest from several top clubs across Europe in signing the 18-year-old, including Barcelona, it looks like Real Madrid are going to win the race for his signature.

As reported by The Athletic, Guler has chosen to join Real Madrid ahead of Barcelona this summer. Final talks to finish the negotiation process for the transfer will take place this week.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid’s bid for Guler includes bonuses, add ons and taxes. The total package is worth more than €20 million.

A deal is not over the line yet, but it looks only a matter of time. In the long run, that kind of a fee for someone with the potential of Guler could prove to be an absolute bargain. Despite being 18 years of age, he has some solid experience of playing at the senior level for Fenerbahce.

There were rumours earlier that if Real Madrid signed Guler, they would send him out on loan for the season. It remains to be seen how things play out regarding that.

The club have an excellent record of developing talent at Santiago Bernabeu. Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, all arrived as teenagers and never went out on loan, but were able to establish themselves as starters for Real Madrid.
