Real Madrid have added another wonderkid to their ranks by signing Arda Guler from Fenerbahce. The ‘Turkish Messi’ was rumoured to be close to joining Barcelona but Los Blancos have gotten the deal done ahead of the Catalan giants. The 18-year-old is considered one of the biggest talents in Europe right now and if he can reach his full potential, he could turn out to be a superstar in the future.

Real Madrid have certainly been helped by their reputation of developing youngsters in recent years. The likes of Vinicius Jr, Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde and Rodrygo, all arrived as teenagers and have gone on to become starters.

Let’s see how things turn out for Guler at Santiago Bernabeu. On the other hand, it looks like Real Madrid have their eyes set on another wonderkid.

Interestingly, Barcelona have been heavily linked with him lately as well. As tweeted out by Adrian Sanchez, Real Madrid has sounded out Ivan Fresneda’s entourage in recent weeks.

Fresneda currently plays for Real Valladolid. And 18 years of age, he has already established himself at the senior level.

Real Valladolid were relegated from La Liga last season though. As a result, Fresneda is expected to leave the club this summer in order to continue playing at the top level. Other than Real Madrid and Barcelona, the Spanish youth international has been linked with several Premier League giants as well.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Fresneda. Real Madrid do need a long-term solution at right-back. Dani Carvajal not the player that he was in his prime, and the club do not have any real back up for him either. At the same time, one would not expect the 18-year-old to come in and immediately establish himself as a starter.
