Kylian Mbappe makes PSG claim amid Real Madrid rumours
The Kylian Mbappe transfer saga has once again returned this summer. It has emerged that the Frenchman does not want to extend his current deal with PSG, which runs until the summer of 2024. On the other hand, the Ligue 1 champions do not seem to be willing to let him leave as a free agent a year later. Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid are rumoured to be a possible destination, if he does end up leaving.
Mbappe has been told to either extend his contract over the coming weeks or complete a transfer away from the club. It remains to be seen what he ends up doing.
Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for years now, but it has never materialised till now. Could the transfer saga finally come to an end this summer?
Some of Mbappe’s recent comments about PSG are interesting though. As reported by Reuters, he said in an interview with France Football magazine:
"“I think that playing for PSG doesn’t help much because it’s a divisive team, a divisive club.”"
Mbappe makes PSG claim amid Real Madrid rumours
It is starting to seem like Mbappe might be on his way out of PSG this summer. And in that scenario, Real Madrid are his most likely destination.
The timing could work out pretty well for Real Madrid as well. They are in need of a world-class forward right now, following the exit of Karim Benzema this summer. Someone like Mbappe could come in and take up that role, as well as become the face of the club.
Of course, it would take a huge transfer fee to sign Mbappe from PSG. And nothing should be taken for granted until we see him holding up the Real Madrid jersey. It must also be pointed out that Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Frenchman in recent days as well. So. let’s see how things play out.
