Real Madrid’s biggest area of need right now is striker. Karim Benzema had been the face of the club and the main source of goals over the past five seasons, following Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit in 2018 to join Juventus. The Frenchman has now left as well though, leaving huge boots to fill. The only two options Los Blancos have in that position right now are Joselu, on loan from Espanyol for the season, and Alvaro, who is just 18 years of age and has played very little senior level football.

Thus, Real Madrid could certainly do with a world-class striker right now to fill the void left behind by Benzema. Unfortunately, there have not been many rumours in that regard lately.

One player that they were linked with heavily early on in the summer transfer window is Harry Kane. But those have faded away over the past few weeks.

Instead, Bayern Munich are starting to look like Kane’s most likely destination. And it appears that Thomas Tuchel’s side have now launched a second bid to sign the England national team captain.

As tweeted out by Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich have now submitted a second offer for Kane, which is €80 million plus add-ons. The Englishman definitely wants to join the Bundesliga champions.

Tottenham Hotspur are in a difficult position as well, with just a year left on Kane’s current deal. It remains to be seen if they end up accepting Bayern Munich’s offer or not.

Someone like Kane might have been a perfect replacement for Benzema. But it does not look like Real Madrid are interested in making a move for him. Instead, the Kylian Mbappe transfer saga has continued this summer as well, with there being conflicting rumours about Los Blancos’ plans for the Frenchman.
