Real Madrid have shown an impressive eye for young talents in recent years. The club brought in the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga as teenagers and developed them into starters. This summer, they have signed Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler. And last December, they got a deal over the line for Endrick, who is still just 16 years of age and will arrive at the Spanish capital in 2024, after he turns 18.

Another Brazilian talent that the club brought in last season was Vinicius Tobias. The right-back arrived on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Real Madrid clearly need to find a long-term solution at right-back with Dani Carvajal no longer the player that he once was while they do not have a genuine back up option either. Despite that, Tobias was not able to break into the senior team, spending the entire 2022/23 campaign playing at the Castilla level.

Real Madrid were believed to have an option to buy in the deal, but they did not activate it. The club were impressed enough though to bring Tobias back for another loan spell.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Tobias returns to Real Madrid. It is a loan until June 2024 for a €500,000 fee and has a buy option clause for €15 million, which is not mandatory. The deal is official and completed.

Tobias is a highly rated talent without doubt. While he might not have been able to play first-team football for Real Madrid last season, it is important to remember that he is still just 19 years of age and has plenty of time to develop. It was also his first taste of football in Europe.

Thus, Tobias certainly deserves another chance to impress and it is good to see that he has gotten that. Hopefully, he will be able to make the jump to the senior level this time.
