Real Madrid are clearly in a state of transition, as the club’s golden generation of the previous decade is slowly making way for the new one to lead Los Blancos into their next era. They already have a number of youngsters, with others expected to arrive in the near future, as they continue to bring in the brightest talents from all over the globe.
One of the wonderkids, who is expected to be leading the way for Real Madrid’s future is Endrick. Still just 16 years of age, he will arrive at the club next summer and is expected to eventually join fellow Brazilians, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, in the forward line.
He already appears to have struck up a friendship with Vinicius. And that seems to have had an influence when it came to choosing Real Madrid as his next destination.
As reported by MARCA, when asked about Vinicius, Endrick said:
"“Vinicius is a friend of mine. I was able to spend vacations with him. I was able to see him and talk to him. He told me many things about Real Madrid. He told me that I’m going to be fine. It is a very good message, since he has been there and is also Brazilian. By playing there he becomes an idol for me. He is a role model for many people. His words gave me even more strength to close the deal with Real Madrid.”"
Real Madrid superstar helped Endrick make transfer decision
The 16-year-old’s high profile move to Real Madrid was announced in December of last year but he will only be making the move to the Spanish capital in 2024, after he turns 18. Until then, Endrick will continue to play for Palmeiras in Brazil, where he is already playing senior level football.
Endrick has made a decent start to life at the senior level. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists in 37 appearances for Palmeiras till now.
Real Madrid were able to defeat tough competition from the likes of PSG and Chelsea to secure Endrick’s signing. The transfer package could rise up to €60 million including add-ons.
Endrick will no doubt need much more experience before he slots into the Real Madrid playing XI. Los Blancos have shown an incredible ability to develop and improve young talents though. Vinicius and Rodrygo are prime examples of that.
