Manchester United have signed quite a few players from Real Madrid in recent years. In 2014, they got a deal done for Angel Di Maria. In the summer of 2021, Raphael Varane left in order to join the Red Devils. And last summer, it was Casemiro who made the trip from Santiago Bernabeu to Old Trafford.

Manchester United might be looking to make it three summers in a row. They have been linked with the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde and Eder Militao in recent months. And now, it looks like another Real Madrid might have been in their sights.

That player is none other than Antonio Rudiger. The German international made the move to Real Madrid just last summer, after his contract ran out at Chelsea.

As reported by El Nacional, Manchester United planned to offer €60 million for Rudiger. However, at no time has Real Madrid come to consider the departure of the German defender.

Thus, despite the interest from Manchester United, it looks like Rudiger is set to continue at Real Madrid next season. The club already lack depth and cannot afford to let an experienced centre-back like him leave.

Rudiger might not have been successful in establishing himself as a nailed on starter for Los Blancos last season, but he was in the first-team mix throughout the campaign. And it is important to remember that it was his first season in Spain. Thus, one would expect him to get better moving forward.

Rudiger is one of the best defenders in the world when on top of his game, which he showed playing at Chelsea under the management of Thomas Tuchel. Real Madrid fans will be hoping that the German international is successful in rediscovering that form in the upcoming season.
