Real Madrid are in need of a world-class striker right now, after seeing Karim Benzema leave the club at the end of last season in order to join Al-Ittihad. The Frenchman had been the main source of goals for Los Blancos for the past five seasons and is even the current Ballon d’Or holder. Thus, he has left some big boots to fill at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have brought in Joselu on loan this summer. With all due respect to the Spaniard, who has been impressive in recent times, it does not feel like he is the man to lead the line for Real Madrid if they want to compete for every major trophy next season. The only other option that the club have at striker is Alvaro, who is 18 years of age and has only played a few games at the senior level.

One player that Real Madrid were linked with earlier in the window is Harry Kane. The Englishman has been one of the best strikers in the world for years now and he could be the perfect candidate to replace someone like Benzema.

Those rumours have faded away in recent weeks though. Instead, it looks like Bayern Munich and PSG have emerged as front-runners in the race to sign Kane.

PSG ready to offer €100 million for Real Madrid target

As reported by RMC Sport, for several days, PSG have been concentrating on Kane. They were in London last week to discuss with Daniel Levy, but also the striker’s entourage. The French club are able to draw an offer close to €100 million, a sum capable of satisfying Tottenham Hotspur.

It remains to be seen how the Kane transfer saga turns out. Tottenham Hotspur have very few options, with his current deal running out next summer.

Other than PSG, Bayern Munich are also in the race to sign Kane and are believed to have already submitted two transfer offers for him. As for Real Madrid, a move for the England national captain looks unlikely.
