Real Madrid have a number of players on their roster right now, who are wanted by clubs across Europe. And in recent years, Los Blancos have shown that they are open to even key stars leaving, if the right offer is on the table. Casemiro’s move to Manchester United last summer is a perfect example of this policy.

As a result, there has been speculation about the future of a number of Real Madrid players lately. One name that certainly falls under that category is that of Aurelien Tchouameni.

Tchouameni was signed by the club just last summer in a blockbuster deal from AS Monaco. While he enjoyed a good start at Real Madrid, his form would dip as the season progressed, especially after the World Cup in which he missed a penalty kick in the final against Argentina.

By the end of the campaign, Tchouameni had lost his status as a nailed on starter and was left on the bench in important games. Naturally, there has been speculation about his future, with some of Premier League’s biggest teams believed to be interested in signing him despite the Frenchman’s underwhelming debut campaign for Real Madrid.

Chelsea and Liverpool have had transfer bids rejected by Real Madrid

As reported by Defensa Central (via 90min), both Liverpool and Chelsea have seen transfer bids for Tchouameni rejected by Real Madrid.

Thus, it looks like Real Madrid are keen to keep Tchouameni at the club and that might be the right step for all parties. The Frenchman does deserve another chance to show what he is truly capable of.

Tchouameni has already shown glimpses of his world-class potential. Now, he has to produce those performances on a more consistent basis. The fact that the previous campaign was his first playing outside of France should be taken into consideration.
