Real Madrid pulled off a major coup by signing Jude Bellingham this summer from Borussia Dortmund. The Englishman might have turned 20 years of age very recently but he is already considered amongst one of the best players in the game and won the Bundesliga Player of the Season award last season while still a teenager.
It already looks like Real Madrid have made the right decision by signing Bellingham. He is already believed to have impressed his teammates with both his quality as well as his attitude.
The arrival of Bellingham has raised questions about a few players’ place in the team though. Perhaps nobody more than Aurelien Tchouameni.
It was just last summer that Real Madrid signed Tchouameni from AS Monaco for a transfer fee believed to be around €80 million. There are question marks over his future at the club after just one season though. Despite his inconsistent debut campaign for Los Blancos, the Frenchman has been linked with a long list of Premier League giants.
Real Madrid player rejects chance to join Liverpool
As reported by AS, Liverpool has once again set its sights on Tchouameni as Jordan Henderson and Fabinho could both leave this summer. But the player is firm in his idea of succeeding in the Spanish capital, and rejects the option of leaving Real Madrid.
Tchouameni had actually made a great start to life at Real Madrid last season. He took Casemiro’s place in the starting XI, with the Brazilian joining Manchester United. The youngster did a brilliant job too and earned a lot of plaudits.
His form took a significant dip after the World Cup, and it is worth pointing out that Tchouameni did miss a crucial penalty kick in the final as Argentina went on to win the tournament. That might have had an effect on his performances.
