Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times. One position where they definitely need to improve is striker. Karim Benzema left for Al-Ittihad at the end of last season, meaning that Los Blancos not only lost the face of the club but also their main source of goals over the past five seasons, since Cristiano Ronaldo left in the summer of 2018 to join Juventus.
Real Madrid have brought in Joselu this summer. But to be very honest, it does not feel like the Spanish international striker is the man to lead the line for Los Blancos, if they want to challenge for all three major trophies next season.
Out of the long list of strikers that Real Madrid have been linked with in recent months, one name is that of Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish international currently plays for Atalanta in Serie A and is one of the most highly rated young strikers in all of Europe.
Hojlund has earned comparisons with Erling Haaland for his style of play. And plenty of clubs appear to be interested in signing him.
Manchester United ready bid for Real Madrid target
As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are preparing their opening transfer bid for Hojlund. Personal terms are already agreed. Atalanta are believed to be looking for around €65 million to €70 million.
A striker like Hojlund would tick a lot of boxes when it comes to Real Madrid’s transfer policy. But after already splashing out on Jude Bellingham, it is hard to see the club shell out that kind of a fee to sign the Dane.
It remains to be seen how things play out. Manchester United are looking like Hojlund’s most likely destination at this point if he does leave Atalanta this summer, as Real Madrid might miss out on another rumoured target.
