Real Madrid must sign superb €32 million French striker
It is no secret that Real Madrid need a striker. Karim Benzema left the club at the end of last season and joined Al-Ittihad almost out of the blue, as initial expectations were that he would end up signing a contract extension with Los Blancos. The Frenchman’s exit has left Los Blancos with a big hole to fill in the squad.
Joselu has been brought in on a season-long loan from Espanyol. But it does not feel like just the Spaniard will be enough to fill Benzema’s void. The club also have Alvaro, who has impressed in the few appearances that he has made, but he is not nearly ready to lead the line for Real Madrid.
After having signed Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid might not be keen to shell out a major transfer fee to sign a striker this summer. But the perfect solution might be available in Elye Wahi.
Wahi currently plays for Montpellier in Ligue 1 and is just 20 years of age. But he is already coming off of a superb domestic campaign.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Wahi scored 19 goals and provided 6 assists in 33 appearances and 2530 minutes of football for Montpellier last season. He had scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists in the 2021/22 Ligue 1 campaign.
It is also worth remembering that Wahi plays for Montpellier, who finished 12th in Ligue 1 last season. Only five teams managed to outscore them though, and none outside of the top six.
A big reason behind that was Wahi, who massively outperformed his expected goals. The 20-year-old certainly looks like a brilliant young player and somehow, his performances have gone under the radar.
He has all the tools you would want in a modern striker and has the penchant for a moment of magic as well. Real Madrid have signed one young talent after another in recent years. They should considering adding Wahi to that list. He is believed to be rated at a transfer fee around €32 million. Chelsea are rumoured to be looking to sign him this summer though.
