Real Madrid fans are hoping that the club end up signing a world-class striker this summer. The departure of Karim Benzema at the end of last season, in order to join Al-Ittihad, has certainly left a major gap in their squad. The Frenchman was their main source of goals over the past five seasons and is the current Ballon d’Or holder. Those are big boots to fill.

Real Madrid have brought in Joselu on a season-long loan and have the highly-rated Alvaro in their ranks. That simply is not enough if they want to compete for all major trophies next season, which is always the expectation for Los Blancos.

There have even been suggestions that Carlo Ancelotti could change the team’s formation next season, playing a duo of Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo up top, instead of an out-and-out striker. That could work, but does not feel ideal.

Amidst all this, there is some positive news. As reported by Sky Sport (via GOAL), Real Madrid would have had a first exploratory phone call to understand the situation of Dusan Vlahovic.

Juventus shelled out a €81 million transfer fee in order to sign Vlahovic from Fiorentina. Since then, the Serbian striker has failed to meet expectations in Turin.

A lot of that might be down to being at the right place at the wrong time. The style of football that Massimiliano Allegri has had Juventus play does not really suit a player like Vlahovic. Thus, it should come as no surprise that he has been heavily linked with a move away this summer.

Real Madrid are not the only club to be linked with him. The likes of PSG, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and several others are believed to be keeping an eye on his situation. Rumours suggest Juventus want a transfer fee around €70 million to part ways with the Serbian international striker.
