AC Milan are no strangers to signing players from Real Madrid on loan. Brahim Diaz spent three seasons there on a temporary basis and established himself as an important player for the San Siro outfit, before returning to Santiago Bernabeu this summer. Now, it looks like the Italian giants have their eyes on another highly-rated talent from Los Blancos.

The player in question is Alex Jimenez, who currently plays at Castilla level and is considered one of their top talents. But it looks like his immediate future lies away from the Spanish capital, and in Milan instead.

As reported by The Athletic, Jimenez is set to depart Real Madrid and sign for AC Milan. He will sign a one-year loan deal with an option to buy included in it.

Jimenez is just 18 years of age. So, one would expect him to be a feature in the AC Milan senior team yet. He is expected to train with the Italian giants’ first-team but will feature primarily at the youth levels.

The move makes sense for Jimenez in more ways than one. He would have seen how much Brahim was helped by spending time on loan at AC Milan and perhaps a spell in Italy could help his development as well.

On the other hand, youth standouts at Castilla have found it very difficult to break into the Real Madrid senior team. Thus, if Jimenez does end up joining AC Milan on a permanent basis in the future, that has to be seen as a win for the youngster as well. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world at the end of the day.

Let’s see what the future holds for Jimenez. We can only wish him the best of luck as he heads to AC Milan.
