Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe and those rumours are picking up momentum, since PSG have decided to leave the French World Cup winner out of their pre-season tour and there have been suggestions that he will no longer train with the first-team players. He has never looked closer to the exit door.
Real Madrid signing Mbappe this summer will be complex, as the operation could end up costing them around £400 million when all things are taken into account. But a move is certainly not impossible.
Some fans are concerned about the future of Vinicius Jr in the team though, in the scenario that Real Madrid do end up signing Mbappe. Both of them prefer to play on the left flank.
Mbappe is arguably the best player in the world on his day. On the other hand, Vinicius has certainly earned his place in the team, with his performances over the past couple of seasons.
Real Madrid make Vinicius decision amid Kylian Mbappe rumours
As reported by AS, Mbappe will not be able to come demanding to play in his favourite role, as a left winger, since Vinicius occupies it and will continue to do so, as the club considers him the MVP of the team. But the coaching staff is convinced that the Frenchman will be a great centre forward due to his goalscoring qualities.
Of course, Mbappe will be used to playing in a central role, having done so at PSG over the years. It is believed though that he prefers to play on the left flank rather than up top.
Let’s see what the future holds. Signing Mbappe will be no easy task. Clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have been linked with him. Al-Hilal are believed to be ready to make a bid too.
