Real Madrid have added to their squad this summer by signing Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Fran Garcia, while Joselu has been brought in on a season-long loan deal from Espanyol. Brahim Diaz will be like a new signing as well, as he spent the past three seasons at AC Milan. Yet, there is one position which remains a weakness for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
That is centre-forward. Karim Benzema departed Real Madrid at the end of last season and left behind a massive void up top as well. He was the club’s main source of goals over the past five seasons.
Real Madrid have been linked with many strikers this summer, but those rumours have quickly faded away as well. The only player that they are being consistently linked with, who is capable of playing centre-forward, is Kylian Mbappe.
Real Madrid are not the only club with an eye on the Frenchman though. As reported by MARCA, another club that has an interest in Mbappe is Tottenham Hotspur. Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Daniel Levy have been in close contact for some time because PSG have asked about Harry Kane, who also has only a year left on his contract.
Tottenham Hotspur interested in Real Madrid target
With all due respect to Tottenham Hotspur, it is hard to see Mbappe ending up at the London club, if he does end up leaving PSG this summer. One of the biggest reasons for the Frenchman wanting to leave in the first place is believed to be his desire to win the Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur have not won the competition in their history. In fact, their last trophy came back in 2008.
So, it would be a major surprise if Mbappe ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur. At this point of time, Real Madrid are the clear favourites to sign the Frenchman.
