Kylian Mbappeās future at Paris Saint-Germain is very much up in the air right now and he looks closer to the exit door right now than he has done ever before. Unlike in the past, this time around, PSG seem keen to see the 2018 World Cup winner leave. That is because there is only a year left on his contract and they do not want to see the Frenchman leave as a free agent in 2024, and miss out on an significant transfer fee as a result. Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid are being linked.
Real Madrid are not the only club who have been linked with an interest in Mbappe recently though. The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea were rumoured to be keeping a close eye on the situation as well.
But there seems to be a positive update for Real Madrid in that regard. As reported by Le Parisien (via Madrid Xtra), Manchester United and Chelsea will not go further in the Mbappe file.
That is superb news for Real Madrid. On top of that, there have also been suggestions that Mbappe is not interested in a move to Al-Hilal, despite the chance to earn a world-record salary on offer.
Chelsea and Manchester United hand transfer boost to Real Madrid
Thus, Real Madrid are emerging as heavy favourites to sign Mbappe. Whether he leaves this summer or the next one.
Real Madrid have held their cards very close to their chest though. And it is believed that they will only make an offer for Mbappe, if they believe that it will definitely be accepted. They do not want a repeat of the saga from last year.
It goes without saying that signing Mbappe would be a major coup for Real Madrid. He has the ability to replace Karim Benzema not only up top but as the face of the club as well.
