Real Madrid are in need of a striker this summer, after Karim Benzema left the club out of the blue at the end of the 2022/23 campaign in order to join Al-Ittihad. The Frenchman’s exit has left a huge void for Los Blancos to fill up top. And it does not feel like the addition of Joselu on loan will be anywhere near enough, with all due respect to the Spanish international.

Real Madrid are not the only club in need of a new striker though. Manchester United find themselves on the same boat.

The Premier League giants are searching for a striker as well. And they appear to have agreed on personal terms with a player, who Real Madrid have been linked with for quite some time.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United’s agreement with Rasmus Hojlund and his camp on personal terms are now clear. It is a five year deal and will include the option for a further year. The Red Devils will bid this week but for the right fee. They are not ready to shell out €90 million or €100 million for the Danish international.

Hojlund is one of the most highly rated young strikers in all of Europe right now. So much so that he has even earned comparisons with Erling Haaland.

Hojlund’s numbers are not nearly as mind-boggling as that of Haaland though. And a transfer fee around €100 million would be too steep, despite the Danish international’s sky high potential. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists in 34 appearances for Atlanta last season.

Manchester United might have agreed terms with Hojlund and his camp, but they are yet to do the same with Atalanta. It remains to be seen if the situation changes over the coming days.
