Real Madrid close to €230 million Kylian Mbappe deal
The Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer saga has been going on for years now. But it could finally reach its conclusion very soon. Ideally, the Frenchman would have joined as a free agent in the summer of 2024 but PSG appear to be intent on parting ways with him this time around, so that they do not miss out on a significant transfer fee.
Things had taken an unexpected twist, when Al-Hilal were believed to have put in a world record €300 million transfer bid to PSG for Mbappe. But it has emerged since then that the player is not interested in the move at this stage of his career and has turned it down.
As a result, Real Madrid have been left as the firm favourites to sign Mbappe this summer. And a move is starting to seem inevitable now.
As reported by MARCA, according to Ramon Alvarez de Mon, this is close to coming to an end and Mbappe is close to becoming a Real Madrid player. The figure will be around €230 million. But not everything will be for PSG. A part will be used to reach an agreement with the player himself.
Real Madrid close to €230 million Mbappe deal
Thus, it looks like things are certainly moving in the right direction when it comes to Real Madrid’s pursuit of Mbappe. The saga, which has been going on for years, might be coming to an end soon.
While signing Mbappe as a free agent would have been one of the biggest transfer coups of all-time, this might be the right time to bring him to Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid are without a world-class number 9 right now following the departure of Karim Benzema at the end of last season.
Mbappe could take up that role and lead the line for Real Madrid. At the same time, he could replace Benzema as the face of the club.
