Real Madrid told transfer fee they must pay to sign Kylian Mbappe
After years of rumours and speculation, it looks like the Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer saga is finally moving in the right direction. The Frenchman has never looked closer to the Paris Saint-Germain exit door than he does now. And unlike other times in the past, the Ligue 1 champions want the World Cup winner to leave on this occasion, as they want to avoid losing him as a free agent in the summer of 2024 when his current deal is set to run out.
There were rumours that Al-Hilal had made a €300 million transfer bid for Mbappe and were ready to offer him a world-record salary as well. But it seems that Mbappe has turned the chance down and wants to remain in Europe at this stage of his career.
That has placed Real Madrid as the firm favourites to sign him. But making a transfer happen will not be straightforward.
As reported by MARCA, Real Madrid have known the transfer fee which PSG will accept for a few days now. It is a figure close to €250 million, which has been communicated to the Spanish club’s board by Mbappe’s mother, Faiza Lamary. However, Los Blancos do not want to shell that out for a player who has only a year left on his contract.

PSG will know that they are in a difficult situation right now. If they are not able to agree a transfer this summer, then Mbappe is believed to be ready to see out his contract and leave as a free agent a year later.
That will give Real Madrid the upper hand in transfer negotiations for Mbappe. And at this point of time, a move seems almost inevitable.
Yes, signing Mbappe for free would be one of the best transfers ever. But the club need a replacement for Karim Benzema now.
