Real Madrid have a number of players on their roster, who have very little scope of getting starting minutes next season. But at the same time, considering the lack of depth all over the pitch, those with versatility could end up getting a decent amount of chances. One player who falls under that category is Lucas Vazquez.

Vazquez started his career as a winger but has had to play most of his football at right-back in recent times. And one would expect him to provide cover for Dani Carvajal next season as well, as the club have not gone out and signed another player capable of playing there.

Vazquez is nowhere near a starter but he does get a fair amount of chances. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he made 30 appearances and played 1497 minutes of football last season, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists in the process.

That is a very decent return for a right-back and it is not hard to see why there is some interest in his signature. For the time being though, it looks like Vazquez is planning to stay put at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid player rejects proposal from Juventus

As reported by Tutto Juve, Vazquez has declined Juventus’ proposal. The player would like to leave as a free agent. His contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2024

Vazquez came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and has spent his entire career at the club, except for a season on loan at Espanyol. During this period of time, he has made over 300 appearances for Los Blancos and won every trophy imaginable.

His run at Real Madrid does not seem to be over just yet. Juventus are a big club without doubt. But considering the changing climate of football, it would be smart for Vazquez to become a free agent.
