The saga involving Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe has been going on for years now. And last year, it had looked like PSG had gotten the last laugh after the Frenchman agreed to a contract extension with them. Yet, the very next summer and a move to Santiago Bernabeu seems to be very much back on the cards.
There’s a big difference this time around though. PSG actually seem keen to part ways with Mbappe this summer as they do not want to see him walk out as a free agent a year later and lose out on a significant transfer fee as a result.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Mbappe. But Real Madrid look like his most likely destination, whether he leaves PSG this summer or the next one as a free agent.
As reported by The Telegraph, PSG are considering making a formal complaint to FIFA over Real Madrid’s conduct in the Mbappe transfer saga. They are convinced that the player has an agreement with Los Blancos to join for free next summer.
PSG consider making complaint to FIFA about Real Madrid
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Mbappe. At this point in time, it looks like he is destined to leave PSG, even though the timeline of his exit is not clear.
PSG clearly want him to depart in the ongoing transfer window, in order to bring in a transfer fee out of his exit. But the possibility of Mbappe staying on and running down the last year of his contract cannot be completely ruled out either.
Unsurprisingly, Real Madrid have been placed as heavy favourites to sign Mbappe this summer. But several Premier League clubs as well as Barcelona have been linked with the Frenchman as well.
