Real Madrid arguably have the best midfield in the world right now. They have all-time legends like Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Someone like Fede Valverde who is on the cusp of his prime. Rising youngsters like Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Arda Guler, all of whom have incredible potential. And even a reliable hand in Dani Ceballos.

While Real Madrid lack depth and options in several positions across the pitch, the same cannot be said about their midfield. They are absolutely stacked there.

Things could change in the future though. This could be the last season at Real Madrid for both Kroos and Modric. And it won’t be easy to replace either of those stalwarts.

While there is still a month left in the ongoing transfer window, Real Madrid seem to be already making plans for next summer as well. If rumours are accurate, they have a highly-rated midfielder from Inter Milan in their sights as well.

Real Madrid eyeing €80 million Inter Milan player for 2024

As reported by CalcioMercatoWeb, Real Madrid is starting to plan for the summer of 2024. A profile identified by the Spanish club is that of Nicolo Barella. Next year, the Italian could be enticed by a new experience, especially in the event of a call from Los Blancos.

Barella is believed to be rated at a transfer fee between €70 million and €80 million by Inter Milan. The Italian midfielder has been a grand success since joining the club and won the UEFA EURO 2020 with the national team as well.

As a result, Barella is recognised by many as one of the best midfielders in all of Europe right now. Thus, signing a player of his calibre would be considered a major coup for Real Madrid. His current deal with Inter Milan is believed to run until the summer of 2026.
