Real Madrid fans will be happy with Diego Simeone’s comments

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe once again this summer. This time around, it looks very much possible though. Unlike in the past, Paris Saint-Germain are open to the prospect of the Frenchman. In fact, they appear to be keen. Otherwise, they risk losing out on a significant transfer fee, as his contract is set to run out next year.

Of course, there is still a long way to go in the saga. It is expected to take a transfer fee north of €200 million to sign Mbappe. A move of that magnitude takes time to come to fruition.

Mbappe joining Real Madrid would be bad news for clubs across the league and Europe though. A forward line consisting of both Mbappe and Vinicius Jr is scary to defend against. Rodrygo has shown tremendous progress in recent times as well and has world-class potential himself.

Yet, Diego Simeone seems to have an unexpected take on the matter. It looks like the Atletico Madrid manager would love Mbappe to join Real Madrid this summer.

As reported by AS, when asked about Mbappe potentially joining Real Madrid, Simeone said:

"“I would love it, it would be extraordinary for the League.“So that he can continue to be one of the best. All footballers who arrive in Spain enhance it. Madrid has no financial problem to afford him. Surely if it is not this year, we will be competing against him next season.”"

It will be very interesting to see how things turn out in the Mabppe transfer saga. There have been plenty of twists and turns over the years, and a few more could be set to come.

Real Madrid are heavy favourites to sign Mbappe this summer. But the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with him in recent days as well. The idea of him leaving on a loan deal for the season has not been ruled out either if a transfer cannot be agreed.

At the end of the day, Mbappe seems destined to join Real Madrid. Whether that will end up happening this summer or the next one remains to be seen.
