Real Madrid eye Chelsea-linked striker if Kylian Mbappe move fails
It is quite clear that Real Madrid could do with another striker at this point in time. Carlo Ancelotti has had to move away from his familiar 4-3-3 formation in pre-season and try out a 4-4-2. A big reason for that is the fact that Los Blancos have not adequately replaced Karim Benzema, after the Frenchman left at the end of last season.
Joselu has been brought in on a season-long loan. While the Spanish international is a good player, he does not seem like the man to lead the Real Madrid forward line, if the club are to challenge for all three major trophies.
At this point in time, a move for Kylian Mbappe this summer seems possible. PSG want him to leave so that they do not miss out on a significant transfer fee, as his current deal runs out a year later.
Real Madrid looks like Mbappe’s most likely destination. But what if the move fails to transpire this summer?

As reported by Cadena SER, Real Madrid would be thinking of an emergency solution if all the plans fail. In that scenario, Joselu could be joined by Dusan Vlahovic. It would be a last-minute option if Mbappe does not arrive.
Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in recent days. Juventus appear to be looking for Romelu Lukaku plus a transfer fee in exchange for the Serbian striker. It remains to be seen if that transpires or not.
Vlahovic was one of the biggest young talents in European football before his move to Juventus. In Turin, he has had an up and down time, to say the least. A lot of that is down to the club’s style of play though and the Serbian striker could thrive at Real Madrid.
