Mauricio Pochettino is a manager who has been heavily linked with the Real Madrid job over the years even though he has never ended up in the Santiago Bernabeu hot seat. The Argentine has recently joined Chelsea though and now looks to bring the Blues back on track after they endured their worst campaign of this century in the 2022/23 season.
Chelsea have used the early part of the summer transfer window to part ways with a number of their players. Now, with the squad trimmed significantly compared to last season, they are expected to make some signings before the transfer window slams shut.
Chelsea struggled in front of goal last season. And this summer, they have brought in the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku already.
The club have also been linked with Dusan Vlahovic recently. It is rumoured that Juventus want Romelu Lukaku plus a transfer fee from Chelsea, in order to part ways with the Serbian.
Pochettino hands transfer boost to Real Madrid
Vlahovic has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid for a long time now. There have also been rumours that the club could turn their attention towards the Juventus forward if a move for Kylian Mbappe fails to transpire.
The Chelsea manager seems to have handed Real Madrid a potential transfer boost as well. As reported by The Guardian, Pochettino is not convinced about adding Vlahovic to his squad.
There have been conflicting rumours about the situation as well. Some suggest Chelsea don’t want to sign Vlahovic. Others seem to believe that they are closing in on reaching an agreement with the player.
Only time shall tell which ones are accurate. Also, it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid make a move for Vlahovic any time soon, considering his rumoured sky-high transfer value in the eyes of Juventus.
