Real Madrid do not have a lot of depth at this point in time. Yet, there are a number of players, who could be on their way out of Santiago Bernabeu before the ongoing summer transfer window slams shut. Some might not want to leave though and it remains to be seen how things play out over the coming weeks.

One player whose future at Real Madrid is shrouded in uncertainty is Andriy Lunin. The 24-year-old is the back-up goalkeeper to Thibaut Courtois right now.

Courtois is arguably the best goalkeeper in world football at this point. So, chances have been limited for Lunin. And his form has seemed to dip in recent times as well.

As a result, a move away from Real Madrid this summer might make a lot of sense for the goalkeeper. Lunin seems to have other plans though.

Real Madrid want 24-year-old player to leave this summer

As reported by AS, Real Madrid wants Lunin out. But he insists on fulfilling his contract, which runs until the summer of 2024.

There is not believed to be any lack of interest in Lunin’s signature. Despite playing only as a cover to Courtois at Real Madrid, he remains one of the most highly-rated young goalkeepers in world football.

There could be a lot more options for Lunin if he does leave as a free agent though. And it seems like that might be exactly what he is planning to do, with just a year left on his current deal at the moment.

Of course, Lunin leaving as a free agent would not be ideal for Real Madrid as they would miss out on a transfer fee. On the other hand, the club recently have also been linked with a move for Anatoliy Trubin, the 22-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper.
