It is absolutely no secret that Real Madrid have wanted to sign Kylian Mbappe for a long time. And this summer, they might have the best opportunity that they have ever had, to bring the Frenchman to Santiago Bernabeu. This time around, PSG are not only open but looking to part ways with the World Cup winner.

This is due to Mbappe’s contract situation. His current deal runs until next summer and it looks like he is not going to sign an extension with PSG. On the other hand, the Ligue 1 champions understandably do not want to see him walk out as a free agent and miss out on a significant transfer fee as a result.

In fact, it looks like the French club have already accepted offers for Mbappe. But an exit has not materialised.

As tweeted out by Bruno Andrade, PSG have already accepted at least two offers for Mbappe. One from the Premier League and the other from Al Hilal, but there was no agreement between all parties.

It is starting to look like Mbappe is destined to join Real Madrid. It is a matter of when and not if at this stage.

Of course, staying on at PSG for another season cannot be ruled out. But it would not be ideal for Mbappe. Rumours have suggested that the club are ready to not play him at all for the entire season if he does remain in the French capital.

The most likely path from here might be Mbappe signing for Real Madrid this summer itself. Los Blancos do need someone to fill Karim Benzema’s void up top. The possibility of the Frenchman going out somewhere on loan for the season before joining the Spanish giants next summer as a free agent has not been ruled out either.
