Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of names over the course of the summer even though they have not been extremely active in the ongoing transfer window. They have brought in Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Fran Garcia, while Joselu has joined the club on a season-long loan deal.

If rumours are accurate, Real Madrid are set to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea as well. The Spaniard will come in as the replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who recently tore his ACL and could potentially miss the entire season.

After that, it will be interesting to see whether Real Madrid make any more signings this summer. Another player who they have been linked with on and off for a long time is Benjamin Pavard of Bayern Munich.

Pavard’s current deal with Bayern Munich runs out next summer. Thus, there is a possibility that he could leave in the near future. Other clubs are after his signature as well though.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have contacted Bayern Munich regarding Pavard. The player’s intention is clear, he wants to leave and try a new chapter. He won’t sign a new deal.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United can agree a deal with Bayern Munich or not. It would make sense for the Bundesliga giants to let the French World Cup winner go this summer rather than see him leave as a free agent next year.

At the moment, Real Madrid are not expected to make a move for Pavard. But, Eder Militao picked up an injury in the opening league game of the season and a lot could depend on its seriousness. If he is out for an extended period of time, Los Blancos might need to sign another centre-back.
