Real Madrid are just one game into their 2023/24 campaign but things are not looking good for them. Squad depth was already a problem for them and they have lost multiple key players in recent days. Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao have both suffered ACL injuries and could be out for the rest of the season. Arda Guler has also undergone surgery although his spell on the sidelines won’t be long-term.

Real Madrid have already replaced Courtois by bringing in Kepa Arrizabalaga on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea. Now, it remains to be seen whether they will do the same for Militao.

Militao is an extremely important part of this team. On his day, he is arguably the club’s best defender. Thus, his injury is a major blow to Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

It does seem like Real Madrid have a centre-back from Arsenal in their sights though. Now let’s see if they end up making a move or not.

As reported by Premier League Brasil, according to Ekrem Konour, Real Madrid are monitoring the situation of Gabriel Magalhaes. Those around the Brazilian defender are even aware that he is being monitored by the Spanish giants.

It is unlikely that Real Madrid would make a significant offer for Gabriel this summer though. He is a key player for Arsenal and the club are unlikely to even consider letting him go for anything other than a considerable fee.

On paper, Gabriel would be an excellent addition to this Real Madrid team. It is worth remembering that Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Nacho are all in their 30s, and sooner or later, Los Blancos will need to bring in long-term replacements for them. Still, it would come as a surprise if they sign the Brazilian this summer.
