The headlines over the last week have been dominated by the long-term injuries suffered by Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao. Both tore their ACLs and could be out for the majority of the season if not all of it. Real Madrid have brought in Kepa to take the Belgian’s place between the posts and it remains to be seen if they sign a centre-back or not.

Amidst all this, the club cannot forget the need for a striker as well. Karim Benzema left at the end of last season in order to join Al-Ittihad.

Joselu has been brought in on a season-long loan from Espanyol. While an excellent striker in his own right, it does not feel like he can fill the boots of Benzema alone.

Carlo Ancelotti has even changed formation, going to a 4-4-2 and not playing a recognised centre-forward up top. Instead, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo are leading the line for Real Madrid at the moment and the new system has produced mixed results till now. And the club must consider bringing in another striker this summer if possible.

Plenty of names have been linked with the club in recent times. As reported by El Debate, the agent of Romelu Lukaku has offered him to Real Madrid.

Lukaku seems to be completely out of the picture at Chelsea right now and is expected to leave this summer. But with just a few weeks left in the window, nothing has transpired.

There has been talk of a move to Inter Milan as well as Juventus, but both of them seem to be off the table right now. At the same time, it is almost unthinkable that Lukaku would remain at Chelsea.

Would a move for Lukaku make sense for Real Madrid? He has struggled over the past two seasons overall, but he did finish the previous campaign strong.
