There are quite a few positions on the pitch where Real Madrid need to strengthen. Unfortunately, due to a combination of reasons, including the long-term injuries suffered by Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao, the focus is expected to be elsewhere. But under ideal circumstances, the club would bring in a new right-back as soon as possible.

Dani Carvajal has struggled to produce his best for a long time now and it might be time to bring in his long-term replacement. There does not seem to be any indication that the club will go for another right-back this summer though.

Yet, they have been linked with quite a few right-backs in recent times. One of them is Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen.

Frimpong appears to be a fan of Vinicius’ qualities. And as reported by MARCA, when asked if he would like to play with the Brazilian one day, the Bayer Leverkusen player said:

"“Yes, of course, I would love to. He is a great player. Who knows… maybe one day.”"

Real Madrid were not the only club to be linked with Frimpong. Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked with the Dutchman at one point or another.

Considering the calibre of the clubs to be linked with Frimpong, it is a bit of a surprise that he is still at Bayer Leverkusen, with all due respect to the German club. Let’s see if a move away materialises in the near future or not.

Frimpong is an exceptional player when it comes to going forward. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 9 goals and provided 11 assists last season.

This time around, he has scored in both the games that he has played till now. Of course, he plays more as a wing-back for Bayer Leverkusen rather than a right-back. And there are some question marks about the defensive side of his game.
