Real Madrid seem to be very calm about their situation even though it is quite clear that there are a lot of holes in the current squad. Karim Benzema left at the end of last season in order to join Al-Ittihad. The Frenchman had been the face of the club and the main source of goals for the past five seasons, since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
It does not feel like Real Madrid have done enough to replace him though. Joselu has been brought in on loan from Espanyol and while the Spaniard has been impressive in recent years, it just does not feel like he is the man to lead the line for Los Blancos.
Carlo Ancelotti has changed formation this season, going from a familiar 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2. There is no out-and-out striker in the new system, with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo playing together up top.
It does not feel like the role suits either of them though. The entire formation change seems to have been made out of necessity rather than choice. And the club could definitely do with a world-class striker.

One of the players who had been linked with Real Madrid this summer is Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian has been one of the best strikers in Europe in recent times and would be a superb addition to this team.
Yet, it looks like the rumours might not have had anything to them. As reported by Sport Mediaset, Ancelotti said:
"“Osimhen is one of the strongest strikers in Europe, but we never thought about it. With the arrival of Bellingham we thought of making up for Benzema’s farewell in another way.”"
Now, to be fair to Real Madrid, they have made a splendid start to this season. They have won both their league games till now and comfortably as well.
Jude Bellingham seems to be thriving in this 4-4-2 system as well. The Englishman has scored three goals in the opening two games of the season.
