Real Madrid have now won their opening three games of the La Liga campaign, following a 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo. Carlo Ancelotti’s side left it late but once again, Jude Bellingham rose to the occasion to slot the ball into the back of the net and clinch all three points for Los Blancos. The Englishman is quickly emerging as one of the faces of the team.

While it was another night to remember for Bellingham, Vinicius Junior’s evening was cut short after he suffered what looked like a hamstring injury in the first-half. He tried to continue on but was ultimately forced off in the 18th minute of the game.

Real Madrid did appear to miss his presence upfront but were able to squeeze out a result. That won’t happen every day though and the club need the Brazilian to be back available as soon as possible.

Let’s just hope that the injury is nothing serious. And Carlo Ancelotti’s comments are a cause for optimism.

Real Madrid boss gives update on Vinicius injury

As reported by AS, when asked about the situation of Vinicius, Ancelotti said:

"“He wanted to continue, so I don’t think it was a very serious thing. I think he will probably miss the game against Getafe and that, with the international break, will give him a chance to rest.”"

Bellingham might be the man of the moment right now but nobody should forget that Vinicius has been one of the shining lights of the team for the past couple of years now. Without his abilities going forward, Real Madrid are bound to struggle, especially with Karim Benzema no longer at the club.

Injuries have been a major problem for Real Madrid for years now and things do not seem to be getting any better. Vinicius joins a quickly growing list of players out on the sidelines.

Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao suffered torn ACLs and are out for the foreseeable future. Arda Guler has had to undergo surgery as well, after suffering an injury in pre-season. Hopefully, Vinicius’ issue will be less serious.
